As a custom home builder, I know how difficult it can be to visualize a home simply by looking at blueprints. When I was introduced to virtual reality, I envisioned a way to integrate this technology into the home design process. The result was an experience that makes the building experience immersive and more transparent for both the clients and the building team.
We value the connection between a vision and the final product. Virtual reality is more than a “fun, emerging technology”, it’s a tool that allows us to reduce some of the friction during the home building process.
We want everyone to feel heard and understood as they realize the home they have been dreaming of for their family.
We value the relationship between builders and their clients. Through virtual reality, we hope to only strengthen that relationship and provide room for more collaboration during the home building process.
Chris Jensen is the founder and owner of White Branch Virtual Home Design. For nearly two decades he’s worked in the construction industry professionally, most of those years with his dad and Jensen Quality Homes. Since inheriting the business from his father, Chris continues to build upon the foundational values of quality, integrity, fairness, and honesty that his father has built.
His background in construction combined with an interest in tech led him to launch White Branch where he loves sharing the benefits of virtual reality with his clients.
Chris has also been involved with the Home Builders Association. From being a member in college of the Student Chapter, to serving on the Board of Directors for the Home Builders Association of Central Tennessee (HBACT). Through his involvement with the HBACT, Chris has received the Hero of the Association award multiple times. Chris has also served as the HBACT President and is a recipient of the “Sonny Lane Legend” award, the most prestigious honor recognized by the HBACT for persons who have made a lifelong, significant impact on the home building industry. Chris believes giving back in addition to continued education and growing in your field should be an integral part of one’s professional career.
Marybeth comes from a social work background with a strong heart for the individual’s experience. After completing her undergraduate degree here at Middle Tennessee State University, she spent several months as a house-mother at a sustainable children’s home in Venezuela – a mutually beneficial experience as she learned Spanish while also teaching English.
Realizing that she wanted to continue learning how best to serve those around her, Marybeth returned to MTSU to complete an intensive one-year program to receive her Masters in Social Work. For the past five years she has walked alongside survivors of human trafficking in the Middle Tennessee area, advocating for them as they work to heal from their trauma and pull their lives back together. The women that she worked with inspired Marybeth and her sister to start a non-profit intended to ease some of the financial burden that is placed upon trafficking survivors by our judicial systems.
Looking for a change of pace and scenery from the hands-on trauma work, Marybeth is excited to now be working alongside her brother at White Branch. She is looking forward to bringing a personalized, positive experience to each consumer. Marybeth truly believes in this technology and that it will be a huge asset to those building houses – now that she knows it exists she would never consider even attempting a build without seeing it in VR first.
Marybeth is passionate about the idea of helping to connect local businesses with local nonprofits to help identify and fill gaps of service throughout the local community.
When Marybeth is not working, she is usually hiking or riding her bike next to her Australian Shepherd, Andy, or traveling to some random town or country to check out the sights. Iceland is by far the favorite and hopefully on the list again soon.
Previously a case manager and court advocate for survivors of human trafficking here in Tennessee, Kayla took the opportunity to follow her true passion for design after her recent move to California with her partner and two dogs.
Kayla is currently a student of interior design at West Valley College in Saratoga, and is behind the interiors that you will find in our models. She enjoys working with clients to design custom models that fit their design aesthetic and lifestyle. Nature is a great inspiration source for her and is usually at the core of her designs. After graduation, Kayla’s goal is to design commercial spaces with a focus on sustainability.
On a more personal level, Kayla enjoys taking her dogs hiking and to the beach, Barre classes, and throwing pottery. She is an avid plant enthusiast and loves to incorporate plants into her design projects.
